Ikusaboshi (戦星), or battle stars, are black stars worn around the wrist for special use in the Tenchi Ultimate Hoshitori Battle.
Upon qualifying as a gladiator, a swordbearer begins with 3 Ikusaboshi, and will wager one for every individual duel she fights. If her count goes down to zero, she is disqualified and can no longer compete. However, her shinyuu is permitted to share Ikusaboshi with her to prevent elimination.
Ikusaboshi are totally separate from and have no bearing on ordinary Hoshitori stars.
