Smiley Finance LLC. is the loan company that Hayate's orphanage and Sou's parents are indebted to, and the source of many of both girls' troubles. To make things more interesting, the company is owned by Asakura Mizuchi's mother, a sneaky and impatient woman who won't stop until she gets what she wants. Her employee Shabazou is usually the one who comes by Dandelion Garden to collect debts, and he is infamous there.
When Mizuchi's mother learns that Dandelion Garden is paying back its loan, she is angered, because she's after their land, not their money. After hearing from Shabazou that Hayate is attending Tenchi Academy, the woman calls her daughter Mizuchi, who also attends the school, and asks Mizuchi to do her a little favor. This is what spurs on Mizuchi's attempts to sabotage and keep Ayana and Hayate from advancing in rank. Which Mizuchi has no problems with, since she has a bone to pick with Ayana anyway. In addition to this, the woman increases the amount that Dandelion Garden must pay by the end of the month to ¥1,000,000.
In the afermath of everything, when Ayana hears what Mizuchi's mother sent her out to do, she storms the company's building and threatens Mizuchi's mother directly, ordering her not to mess with the orphanage's loan agreement again. Since then, they haven't caused any big problems, and Mizuchi's ties to them even ended up helping Sou out with her family's debt.
